Do you bake? I know I have at least several recipes in my files right now that use Limocello as one of the ingredients. I would think in many baking recipes the Limocello could be substituted for the liquid such as water or other fruit juices to enhance the flavor. I wouldn't swap out something like buttermilk though. That adds a moistness and richness to a cake which I don't believe Limocello could create. You make me remember with great sadness the lemons my parents used to bring me from San Diego when they would do their “snowbird” thing there each winter. Sadly, and then sit around for an additional 15 days with the sugar syrup added. Then I put a small bottle of it into the fridge to get cold enough to sample. Delightful. I've never run into this so I cant say how that would turn out. You could try it as I can't imagine it's very good with sugar floating around.Yes, 2 weeks sitting before the syrup then filtered with an unbleached coffee filter and 2 weeks after the syrup. The cloudiness came as soon as i added the syrup.With a potato or veggie peeler, a 750ml bottle of limoncello at the liquor store costs $25 or much more. The ease in which you can make - and drink - this yummy concoction makes it a no-brainer to start brewing right now. The holidays are right around the corner!Our lemon tree has a bumper crop of meyer lemons. They are thinner skinned than others we've received over the years. I want to make lemoncello however is there a way to cut the sugar or use a substitute?, that's a dip or spread
A friend highly recommend this recipe. We have hundreds of lemons on our backyard lemon tree. Another friend and I are going to make this for her summer wedding. My question is: after it rests for all of that time does it have to go in the freezer or can I put it in the freezer as we need it. Storage in the freezer is a problem., Tempted?
