    Don't add all of the vegetables at the beginning to cook unless you're making the vegetable barley soup in the slow cooker. I recommend adding any softer vegetables like the bell peppers, but that's just me. This recipe is going into our regular rotation.If you don't care for spinach, tender result.

    My daughter is making this in a large quantity to provide meals to seniors. I know that it says 6-8 servings. What would you estimate this to be in ounces per servings? We got 16 oz containers and want to make sure that we are making enough. Thanks., I had regular frozen spinach in my freezer so I just used that and It turned out very nice.
