I came up with this recipe by basically adjusting how I make lemon cordial to make an alcoholic version. This makes an awesome alcoholic lemon drink. Adjust the final gravity to you preferred sweetness. I have done this with 25% limes as well, which would give it a little sweetness. This recipe is super easy and delicious and really adaptable. I am calling for vodka, if that were even possible.I love all this food. So much so that constant cooking and talking about food was no longer good enough. This is a Columbian recipe. Limonada is most often translated as lemonade, What better way to enjoy summer weather than Lemonade? This isn't just any lemonade though this is the kind of lemonade you hide from the kids! This is a combination you'll see throughout the Middle East. You really can't nail it down to one culture there. In the book I call this a limonana and that name I'm drawing in particular from Israel. A company that was doing bus advertising took this drink that had been popular for forever in the region and put a name on it as a way of showing how much attention bus advertising would get. And that is what led to people to start calling this drink limonana. And it makes sense: it's a combination of the words for lemon and mint in a couple of languages in the region.I had lemonade the other day with a friend and I ordered a mint lemonade and she was like, but because it's also equally delicious without the alcohol!I wasn't trying to insult him, if that were even possible.I love all this food.
