Oh I am so jealous you met Edna Lewis!! What an iconic woman. Taste of Country Cooking is one of my favorites. Her roast chicken recipe is my go-to. I live in the Languedoc, laid it skin side up on a cooking sheet and broiled it for 10 minutes. Then I pealed off the skin and it worked great. This soup was a hit for my picky husband and my 19 month old son.
